Interesting how the font American Typewriter is still works as visual shorthand for “this is a movie about a writer” even though most writers haven’t used a typewriter for over twenty years.

Not American Typewriter. Unlike the annoyingly fake AT, this is a monospaced font, seemingly based on actual typewriter letters. But I get your drift.
